Jazz dance technique is an uniquely American dance form with its base in ballet, modern & afro-caribbean styles. Great choreographers such as Giordano, Conte and Fosse created a true style when they staged their companies in Chicago & New York. Highly athletic and stamina building, Jazz is the perfect dance form for the energetic dancer.
Hip Hop
Dance Team available!
This class introduces the dancer to street dance & the modern movements that are in commercials, TV and videos. Still based on the Jazz basics but adding in the elements of street dance. This class develops rhythm, isolations, flexibility & memorization of long combinations.
Contemporary
Dance Team available!
Contemporary Dance works your core & increases flexibility & your range of motion while having fun. Students are led through floor, standing & traveling exercises that incorporate Graham, Limon, & Horton techniques fused with elements of Jazz. Also for the Adult who wants something different.
Ballet company and Dance Team available!
Character dance teaches students performing quality & expression. Using base national dances such as polka, czardas, mazurka and flamenco to name a few, students learn how to go past technique & build performance. Ballet students who incorporate character in their training find themselves mature quickly for stage.
Music
APA Music program performs 2x per year!
Enjoy private sessions or join a 10-week group lesson which introduces basics up to rock band or even our NEW Triple Threat class. Study voice, piano, guitar or percussion. Each 30 minute private is schedule in 6 week blocks. Each group lesson is 10-weeks.
Theater
Theater programs have a live performance at the end of each session!
Every child wants to be on stage! Allegro Theater programs have everything you need for the budding actor. Each child is introduced to production, staging, rehearsal, costumes/props & performance. Allegro offers everything from 1 week theater camps to 10 week sessions that introduce the amazing world of theater! Full year & Summer programs available.
